Epiphyllum Society of America

Monthly general membership meeting.

Program:

 Preparation for Flower Show

              Presentation of the 2016 registrations

Richard Klug presentation on his hybrids.

Richard Klug grew up in Delaware and through his family developed an early interest in Gardens and Horticulture. The family home had nearly an acre of azaleas and rhodendrums with a rock garden built by Richard and his Father. The family spent time at world famous Longwood Gardens and the Dupont estates Nemours and Winterthur.

Richard lived in Washington DC and attended the University of Maryland where his emphasis was Marketing. He also took courses in Botany. He settled in California and has lived in his current home for 24 years where he grows Orchids, rare cacti and Caudiciforms and breeds Epiphyllums. He was introduced to Epis by Howard Quand who told him just to take cuttings of his Epis because he had looked at them all and had all the good ones. This turned out to be only partially true so there are some early collections from Rainbow Gardens and from other Society members.

Richard will be bringing cuttings for a raffle.
